Merry Christmas!
(so sad: our dogs didn't make the card this year...sorry puppies! we still love you!)
What a year it was for us! We welcomed our baby girl, Audrey Leigh, into the world on July 27, 2012!! She is a joy and a perfect gift from God! He has overwhelmed us with His grace and goodness. I also started a new career venture as a stay at home mom. :) I couldn't bear to return to work and leave Audrey all day, and I am so grateful that I have the opportunity to stay home. It is truly a gift. We spend our days smiling, giggling, playing, and learning! What fun it is to explore the world through the eyes of a child. :) Michael is such a proud daddy and baby girl of course has him wrapped around her little finger.... Not surprising at all!
We pray that you will experience Christ's love in a profound way this season and throughout the new year.
I realize the frequency of my blog posting is atrocious but all I can promise at this point is to try to remember to post a Christmas picture next year.

You're not gonna believe this.....well, maybe you are....
I decided to AT LEAST check some of my friends blogs today because I've been out of the blog world for forever at this point. The way I remember how to get to my friends blogs is from the links on my blog page. Well, I started to open up my blog page, and I had completely forgotten the web address! How pathetic is that?!! After trying penningtonpack, michaelandallison, etc. etc..... I finally remembered. Duh!
This is just a little blog post to say hi and that I'm still alive.
I will be trying to start checking friends' blogs on a somewhat regular basis though...as long as I can remember how to find my own blog. :)

3 years!?!?!
Yesterday, Michael and I celebrated our anniversary!! I cannot believe it's been 3 years! Time really flies when you're having fun!

An Ode to Kent
Believe it or not....I CAN keep a secret!!! In case there are any of you out there who were questioning this. :) I was allowed to tell a few select close friends but that was it.
And today is the big day that I can break the HUGE news to everyone about my brother Kent!!!
Drumroll please.....
Kent is an official medical student at Texas A&M Health Science Center's College of Medicine. What what???!!!!
Congrats bro!! You are living your dream and going to be able to make a living doing what you are passionate about. I am excited to watch you as you begin this journey.....and soaking up time with you before you start studying like a crazy man while enjoying the fact that you are in Dallas for a little bit longer.
So here it is...a little ode to Kent...in pictures...the cutest kid and best brother ever...other than Carter of course. :)

My broadway star cousin, Kerri Brackin, has finally made her way to Dallas! To say I'm excited is such an understatement!!
I got to see the show in St. Louis about a month ago and now I'm getting to see it more than three times in a span of two weeks. It is truly fantastic!! The cast is incredible.
Set your DVR to record Good Morning Texas on Wednesday morning. The show is on ABC (channel 8) at 9:00 a.m.
Also, if you want to go see Avenue Q at the new AT&T Performing Arts Center's Winspear Opera House in Dallas, click here to find tickets. They are here until June 6th.

I Hear Ya Loud and Clear!
I just got the following message in my gmail inbox from my adorable husband:
Sat night = DATE night
No distractions
No parties
Limited kitties - this is what we call our dogs - strange, I know
Go in or stay out; doesn’t matter
You, me, and Dupree (jk) - this is an inside joke :)
Just give me a budget and I’ll do the rest
LONG overdue
This just makes me laugh out loud!! I usually send him emails throughout the day regarding the plans I make so he has no excuse to say "What?!?! You didn't tell me that ____________ was happening tonight?!?!!". No, honey, but I emailed you about it three times. This is my CYA move to avoid fights. I do admit things have been kinda crazy lately. Both of us are working long hours, our Saturday mornings used to be our favorite time of the week and they are now booked through May due to church commitments and I've been filling our (already little) downtime with plans and tasks. I'm slightly task-oriented. :) :) Oh, and Michael's trying to study for the GMAT which he is taking in one month (that we cannot afford to reschedule AGAIN).
But this is to say: I get it, honey. I understand. I'm all yours Saturday...and forever. I wish I could say we had a budget for a date, but all I can offer you is a Darden's or Carrabba's or AMC gift card. :) But hey, at least we've got that!!
P.S. To all of my loyal blog followers (laugh), blogging more often was obviously not one of my New Year's Resolutions. :) But with my blogiversary coming up this March, I may try to get my blogging back on track. One thing at a time....I've finally figured out Twitter!! :) So follow me!

I'm officially a tweeter/twerson!! I am learning so much new twitter language - it's overwhelming!
I started my account on twitter so I would get real-time health updates to my phone from @MattChandler74 and @villagechurchtx but have lately realized the wonderful benefits of this thing called twitter!
First of all, it's just plain fun! It's an awesome way to keep in touch! And for lazy bloggers like me, it keeps people updated without having to sit down at the computer and write a blog entry!

Christmas Pictures
My brother's longtime girlfriend Elyse is incredibly talented at photography, and she took our Christmas pictures last weekend.
I will not reveal our official Christmas picture until later, but here are a few of my favorites.
I especially love the two of Kosmo by himself - yawning and one where he has a wrinkled lip - such a silly boy! He's my little Santa Kos!!!
Madeline is worn out from all the picture taking!
Here is a picture of our house at night....I LOVE Christmas lights!!! Sweet Michael got up on the roof this year and put lights on the house.
I hope you're enjoying this Christmas season as much as we are!
Beau Hughes preached last Sunday at The Village Church on the Hope of Advent. Listen here. We have hope that we will be with Christ forever, and He will make all things new!
This Sunday is the 4th Sunday of Advent and the candle represents Peace. The fourth candle reminds us that Jesus comes to bring Peace to both the world and to people's hearts. Without Christ there is no peace in this world.
“For unto us a child is born, unto us a Son is given. And the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6-7
